Meet Our Fellows

Arpita Shah MDArpita Shah, M.D., MPH

Residency: Family Medicine at Saint Joseph's Medical Center/New York Medical College at Yonkers, NY

Research/Clinical Interests: With the combined perspectives of clinical medicine and public health, Dr. Shah is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of older adults. Her clinical interests include comprehensive primary care, dementia care, and strategies to promote mobility and independence. Her research focuses on fall prevention in older adults, with an emphasis on interventions that enhance safety, reduce risk, and support healthy aging.


Lee Simon MDSimon Lee, M.D.

Residency: Family Medicine Residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center

Research/Clinical Interests: My interest in Geriatrics is grounded in a foundation in Family Medicine and a deep appreciation for longitudinal, patient-centered care. I am particularly interested in cognitive health, polypharmacy management, and promoting functional independence to improve quality of life for our older population through comprehensive, and compassionate care.

Megha Puri MDMegha Puri M.D.

Residency: Internal Medicine at Saint Peter's University Hospital/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, NJ

Research/Clinical Interests: Appropriate and wise use of healthcare resources to ensure the needs of our older adults are addressed. Special interest in the process of dementia and the methods to address the risk factors, slow the progression and manage the needs as the severity increases.





Pooja Mathew MDPooja Mathew, M.D.

Residency/Fellowship: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Queens, NY (Internal Medicine), Hackensack University Medical Center (Geriatrics Fellowship)

Research/Clinical Interests: I am excited to bring a profound dedication to enhancing the lives of our elderly patients. With a focus on pain management and a commitment to spending quality time with each patient, I am dedicated to improving comfort and care for our senior population. I strive for a compassionate approach and hope that with the specialized training at HUMC to promise to advance our mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
