PGY 2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency

PGY 2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency

The Hackensack University Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Program – Emergency Medicine Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) is an ASHP accredited 12-month program. Gabrielle ProcopioWelcome and thank you for your interest in the PGY2 Emergency Medicine (EM) Pharmacy Residency Program at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC)! Our program was established in 2014 and is American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited. We pride ourselves in training our PGY2 EM pharmacy residents to be well-rounded and ready to handle any emergency situation they are presented with, thereby making them highly competitive candidates to excel as Emergency Medicine Clinical Specialists.

Our high volume Emergency Department cares for patients with complex medical issues and extremely high acuity. We are an academic service and have the largest EM medical residency program in the state.

Our comprehensive residency program prepares residents by emphasizing the development of core clinical problem-solving skills while also gaining experience in bedside teaching, formal teaching, and research. Our residents participate in an emergency medicine centric rotation schedule, highlighting electives which aid their understanding of emergency care. Our team of well-trained and talented preceptors is dedicated to the resident’s success, providing the opportunity to tailor experiences to fit their needs. The spirit and enthusiasm of our preceptors is evident in all their interactions, which fosters an ideal learning environment.

I am excited to meet you and further discuss the exciting opportunities that lay ahead of you at our program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!

Sincerely,
