Pharmacy Residency Program

Purpose

To contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for the medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, establish eligibility for board certification, and qualify the resident for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Practice Environment

JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J. is a not-for-profit, 499-bed academic hospital that is part of Hackensack Meridian Health, the largest, most comprehensive health care network in New Jersey. The JFK campus houses the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute – a 94-bed acute rehabilitation hospital offering New Jersey’s most comprehensive rehabilitation services. JFK’s clinical research and trials in neuroscience and rehabilitation have been internationally recognized and widely published.

The JFK Emergency Department consists of 50 adult private beds and a separate Pediatric Emergency Department with 14 private beds. JFK also operates the JFK Satellite Emergency Department in Plainfield, Urgent Care in Piscataway and a Surgery Center on the JFK campus.
