Carrier Behavior Health at Raritan Bay Medical Center is a teaching and training site for medical students, general psychiatry residents, geriatric psychiatry fellows and addiction medicine fellows, through our affiliation with various Hackensack Meridian Health academic programs. Compassionate Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Care in Perth Amboy

We offer a range of specialized inpatient services to address acute psychiatric and behavioral health needs. Our programs are designed to create a safe and therapeutic environment for healing.

  • Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Treatment: When a mental health crisis requires hospitalization, our acute psychiatric unit provides comprehensive treatment for both voluntary and involuntary patients. Our team offers specialized services including medication education, stress management skills, yoga, and spirituality groups.
  • Emergency Crisis Stabilization: Available 24 hours a day, our experienced crisis counselors and psychiatric nurses provide immediate evaluation and treatment recommendations for adults and children experiencing a psychiatric emergency.  We have two locations within our emergency departments serving the Perth Amboy and Old Bridge communities: Raritan Bay Medical Center at 530 New Brunswick Avenue in Perth Amboy and  Old Bridge Medical Center located at 1 Hospital Plaza in Old Bridge.
  • Dual-Diagnosis Program: We offer dedicated care for individuals managing both mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses.
  • Geriatric Inpatient Program: Our services include specialized units and programs designed for the unique behavioral health needs of older adults.
  • Neuromodulation Services (ECT and dTMS): Our network is one of the largest providers of neuromodulation services on the east coast, and our experts are among the most experienced in the field. These scientifically and medically proven treatments provide life-changing hope and possibilities for individuals with treatment-resistant forms of depression, bi-polar, psychosis, schizophrenia and other acute conditions.
