At Johnson Rehabilitation Institute at Riverview Medical Center, formerly known as Riverview Rehabilitation Center, we are dedicated to helping you or your loved one regain strength, independence, and an improved quality of life. Conveniently located in Red Bank, New Jersey, our institute provides both inpatient and outpatient therapy services, tailored to meet your unique needs and recovery goals.

As the only acute comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation facility in Monmouth County accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), with a specialized Stroke Specialty Program, we are committed to the highest standards of care. Our multidisciplinary team of board-certified physiatrists, therapists, and rehabilitation nurses works collaboratively to create a personalized treatment plan for you.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Red Bank

Inpatient and Outpatient Therapy

Whether you are recovering from surgery, a neurological event, or managing a chronic condition, our expert therapists are here to guide you on your journey to recovery. We offer a wide range of therapeutic care designed to improve physical, cognitive, and communicative functions.

Our services include:

  • Physical Therapy: Our physical therapists focus on restoring mobility, strength, and function through customized exercise programs. We address a variety of conditions, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain.
  • Occupational Therapy: We help you regain the skills needed for daily living, such as dressing, cooking, and other essential activities, to enhance your independence.
  • Speech Therapy: Our speech-language pathologists assist with communication and swallowing difficulties that may arise from conditions like stroke or brain injury.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Information

Our inpatient rehabilitation program is a unit within Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center.

Patients in this program are referred from hospital and physician providers through Hackensack Meridian Health network or local, regional, statewide, national and international facilities.

Our visitation hours are:
Monday - Friday 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.

We do not accept patients who are:

  • Under age 18
  • Dependent on a ventilator
  • In a coma
  • Unable to participate in our acute rehabilitation program due to confusion, agitation and who require a closed unit for safety
