About Us
Heart failure is a potentially life-threatening condition that affects more than 6 million people in the United States. It is the leading cause of hospitalization of those over the age of 65. Heart failure occurs when the heart doesn’t pump as efficiently as it should to deliver oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the body. This results in fatigue, shortness of breath and fluid retention that can lead to a loss of functional capacity.
In recent years, a great deal of progress has been made to treat heart failure. At our nationally recognized award-winning Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension Program, highly experienced physicians and surgeons, and heart failure nurse practitioners take a multidisciplinary approach and provide advanced treatments to improve our patients’ outcomes. Our program also uses a multidisciplinary approach with physical therapy, social workers, registered dietitians, Magnet recognized nurses and many more to provide a comprehensive care plan focusing on the patient as the center.

Our Services
Pulmonary Hypertension
Pulmonary hypertension is a disease which affects the blood vessels which supply blood to the lungs to get oxygen. There are many causes of this very complex disease process which requires expert evaluation. Workup includes bloodwork, breathing tests called Pulmonary Function Tests, exercise walks and possibly heart catheterizations. The disease can also affect the ways in which the right part of the heart pumps. Treatment varies based on the cause identified and often requires many different therapies.
Our program and practice specializes in oral, inhaled and intravenous therapies for pulmonary hypertension.
