Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center Settle Contracts with HPAE Locals 5058, 5138

Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center reached tentative agreements Thursday with HPAE locals 5058 and 5138 after nearly six months of good faith bargaining. The two contracts cover approximately 1,500 registered nurses in the two hospitals.

Upon ratification of these two contracts, Hackensack Meridian Health will have completed its negotiations with HPAE. Only a few weeks ago, HPAE-represented team members at Palisades Medical Center ratified successor three-year labor contracts. In mid-September, team members at The Harborage ratified a new three-year contract.

The new labor agreements will enable Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center to continue to deliver safe, high-quality care for patients. They also will provide team members with sustainable, fair and market-competitive wages and benefits and a positive work environment that will help attract and retain team members.
