Andrew Pecora, M.D. and David Reis, Ph.D. Recognized by NJBIZ as NJ Digi-Tech Innovators

Hackensack Meridian Health is pleased to announce that Andrew Pecora, M.D., chief executive officer of Outcomes Matter Innovations, LLC and David Reis, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief information officer at Hackensack Meridian Health, have been recognized by NJBIZ among its inaugural class of NJ Digi-Tech Innovators.

“I want to congratulate Dr. Pecora and Dr. Reis on their well-deserved recognitions,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “We are fortunate to have these visionary leaders in essential positions to elevate and advance our level and delivery of care.”

According to NJBIZ, the NJ Digi-Tech Innovators Awards program showcases talented individuals who introduced significant innovations in the technology and digital space that contributed significantly to the productivity and performance of their organizations.

Dr. Pecora is a leader in care transformation, innovation, research and discovery, develops strategy, and implements value-based health care programs. He leads joint venture initiatives with other health care providers; works to improve operational margins, and leads research, discovery and entrepreneurship through the Hackensack Meridian Health Center for Discovery and Innovation.

Dr. Pecora leads the partnership for Hackensack Meridian Health and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is also the founder and first president of Regional Cancer Care Associates and is founder and executive chairman of Cota, the digital classification system developed at Hackensack Meridian Health, which helps to personalize treatment and track costs. He recently held the position of president of Physician Enterprise and chief innovation officer at Hackensack Meridian Health before accepting a new leadership role with Outcomes Matter Innovations, LLC.

Driving the value of IT through innovation, cost optimization, and risk management, Dr. Reis is responsible for IT leadership, strategy, operations, innovation, security and data management at Hackensack Meridian Health. A leading health IT expert in the digitization of health care, platform technologies, security and telemedicine, Dr. Reis is focused on the intersection of electronic health records, true interoperability, and the consumerization of health care.

Previously, Dr. Reis was the CIO at Lahey Health and has held IT leadership positions in retail banking, public accounting and higher education. Dr. Reis is a frequent speaker and interview subject on health IT related topics and has taught business and technology undergraduate and graduate courses at Rosemont College, Drexel University, and Northeastern University.

The NJBIZ NJ Digi-Tech Innovators Awards were presented at a ceremony in Somerset on May 14 to recognize distinguished leaders who are driving New Jersey’s growth.
