Dr. Pecora making strides in research and innovation to transform health care

Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to announce that Andrew Pecora, M.D., FACP, CPE, former chief innovation officer and president of Physician Enterprise at Hackensack Meridian Health, was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives. Dr. Pecora, now consultant and strategic advisor to Hackensack Meridian Health, was ranked number 29 out of the top 50.

The Modern Healthcare recognition program acknowledges clinicians working in the health care industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact.

In May 2019, Dr. Pecora accepted the role as chief executive officer of OMI (Outcomes Matter Innovations, LLC), a private company founded by physicians that empowers partnerships between private physicians and health care networks, in conjunction with payers. As a consultant and strategic advisor to Hackensack Meridian Health, he continues to assist the organization in its journey to become a value-based health network and help the network transform health care overall.

Dr. Pecora has been part of Hackensack Meridian Health since 1990 and most recently served as president, Physician Enterprise and chief innovation officer of the organization. Over the years, Dr. Pecora has delivered significant accomplishments at Hackensack Meridian Health including: forming a successful strategic partnerships with Memorial Sloan Kettering and Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center; establishing the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center; implementing the health network’s bundles program; and creating the Center for Discovery and Innovation that is inspiring forward-thinking health care inventions like Pillo and PurpleSun.
