An Integrative Medicine Physician has advanced training in integrative and/or functional medicine. They may be board certified in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties. They also have obtained board certification in their primary specialty of Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Osteopathy, or another specialty. An Integrative Medicine Physician looks at all aspects of health and wellness. Integrative Medicine complements your conventional care with your primary physician.
Prior to your first appointment, you will be asked to provide information describing symptoms, concerns, family history, lifestyle details, and reason for your visit. This will help guide your consultation.
The initial consultation, which lasts an hour, addresses all aspects of your health — biological, psychological, social and spiritual.
The physician will examine you and discuss any findings with you. Together, you will develop a comprehensive treatment plan which may include aspects of sleep, activity, nutrition and stress management. In addition, it may include consultation with other Integrative Health & Medicine providers such as our Nutritionist, Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, Health Psychologist, and Health Coach.
You will be scheduled for follow-up visits to review and track your progress.
