Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery

Funded by the National Institutes of Health

Caregivers and their children may qualify to be in a new research study about the long-term effects of COVID in children (also called Long COVID). 

What is the study about?

Researchers at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health and across the country are working to learn how COVID affects children’s bodies, and why some children and young adults who got COVID are sick many months later. Feeling sick for a long time after a COVID infection is called “Long COVID”. 

Who can join?

  • Children and their caregivers who have and/or who have not had COVID. This includes children of all ages:
    • Babies
    • Preschool and school age children
    • Teenagers
    • Young adults up to age 25 years
  • Children and caregivers from all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds can join.

What will happen if my child joins?

They'll get paid for their time and we may ask you and your child to:
  • Answer survey questions
  • Have checkups and tests
