Family Medicine Residency Program Details | Palisades Medical Center

Program Details

Our program consists of 3 years of training. We rotate mostly through our primary institute at Palisades Medical Center. Our partnered hospitals include Hackensack University Medical Center and Joseph Sanzari Children’s hospital, where we attend Geriatrics and Pediatrics rotations respectively.

We have weekly scheduled didactics which is a protected learning time for residents. We also receive weekly board review prep which is led by a trained faculty.

We have a scheduled In-service exam annually to measure the progress of every resident.

Residents are given feedback on every rotation via evaluation by their preceptors. Residents also have full access to medical encyclopedia in the hospital, in addition to medical journals for hand-on literature access.

Our program has policies that promote resident’s well-being, safety and prevent burn out. Resident’s also receive bi-annual feedback from Program Director on their progress.

Examinations

In-service exam is administered annually to evaluate resident medical knowledge and progress.

Residents are also eligible in their third year to register for ABFM board certification exam.
