Local High School Students Awarded Community Service Merit Scholarships From Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center (2018)

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center has awarded $30,000 in Community Service Merit Scholarships to 15 local students from eight local high schools in the hospital’s primary service area.
The Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center Community Service Merit Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards high school seniors who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in community service while maintaining academic success. Graduating seniors (class of 2018) from each of the participating high schools were selected to each receive a merit scholarship in the amount of $2,000. This year’s winners were:

Passannante Jr., M.D., FACC, President of Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center. “We understand that paying for college can be challenging, and we hope that our Community Service Merit Scholarships will help lessen the burden for the deserving recipients.”
The online application process was conducted in February and March. Recommendations were made by high school guidance counselors and scholarship applications were reviewed by a committee of community volunteers.
