First students at NJ's newest medical school get their white coats, embark on studies

Sixty members of the inaugural class of the state's newest medical school donned white coats Tuesday in a ritual intended to cement their commitment to compassion — as well as scientific excellence — in the study and practice of medicine. The students recited the "physician's pledge" before an audience of friends and family, as well as faculty members and administrators of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University.
