Why Minimally Invasive Surgery isn’t Always the Answer

After suffering stroke-like symptoms and being brought to Jersey shore University Medical Center, Pinakin Jethwa, M.D., determined that the patient had a ruptured middle cerebral artery aneurysm. The neurosurgeon opened the skull and placed a small clip across the neck of the aneurysm to prevent blood from entering it, which decreased the chances of causing a stroke and ultimately leading to a better long-term recovery.
