New Trustees Join Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation Affiliates
June 09, 2025
Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, the philanthropic division of Hackensack Meridian Health, a leading not-for-profit health care organization that is the largest, most comprehensive and truly integrated health care network in New Jersey, announces the addition of new trustees to two of its affiliated hospital boards.
Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center Foundation has welcomed Anoop Khiani to its board of trustees. Khiani is a franchise owner of multiple Buy Rite Liquor locations and joins fellow trustees in its efforts to raise vital funding for projects and services at Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Most recently, the trustees, chaired by Adithya Bathena, supported the hospital’s efforts to expand its comprehensive cancer care services with the opening of a newly renovated, four-story facility at 80 James Street in Edison. The $14 million investment enhances access to advanced cancer treatment, providing patients with expert-led, multidisciplinary care close to home. In addition to cancer services, the facility is also home to a variety of surgical services.
Additionally, Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center Foundation welcomed Ashish Singh, founder and CEO of GajRaj Acquisitions, to its board of trustees. Singh joins board chair Alexander Duran and fellow trustees who are currently raising funds for an Emergency Department expansion project at Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center. The $50 million project, set to be complete in 2026, will make emergency care more accessible to the community by adding 17 treatment bays, creating an enlarged trauma room and 15 new fast-track bays to treat non-urgent patients more efficiently, as well as space for pediatric patients and a secure area for behavioral health patients.
“We are grateful to Ashish and Anoop, who join two talented boards in raising funds to enhance health care in their respective communities,” said Joyce P. Hendricks, president and chief development officer, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, which oversees the affiliated hospital foundations. “Trustees are incredibly important in helping not-for-profit hospitals - like those under the Hackensack Meridian Health umbrella - fundraise for important projects. They bring their community connections, ideas and energy to bolster efforts, and we look forward to partnering with Ashish and Anoop as we continue our important work.”
Khiani and Singh join their respective boards as Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation and its affiliates work to meet a $1 billion fundraising goal set in September 2024 when the organization launched its Be The Difference campaign. Be The Difference is a transformational effort focusing on four key pillars: enhancing the delivery of patient care, accelerating groundbreaking research and discovery, expanding equitable access to advanced care and revolutionizing medical education while supporting the nursing profession. Through this ambitious initiative, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation aims to reshape health care for patients, clinicians and the diverse communities it serves, paving the way for a brighter, healthier future.
