Conditions We Treat
The gynecology program incorporates state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical technologies which have revolutionized the practice of gynecology. Using these technologies has transformed many gynecologic procedures, from traditional surgeries that required days of hospitalization and weeks of recovery, to minimally invasive procedures that can be performed on an outpatient basis and reduce recuperation times to just days.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology currently has many accomplished minimally invasive surgeons using the da Vinci® Surgical System. Our department has continued to explore the use of this advanced telerobotic technology in performing a variety of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. In addition to a wide range of gynecological conditions, our physicians provide family planning and birth control management, as well as hormone replacement therapies. They also offer cancer screening and adolescent care.
Beyond general gynecological care, our team treats a variety of reproductive and gynecological conditions, including:
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Urinary or fecal incontinence
- Irregular uterine bleeding
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Pelvic reconstruction
- Female Infertility
- Uterine Cancer
- Ovarian Cancer
- Cervical Cancer
We have an extensive care team each of whom play a very specific and important role in the complete spectrum of care. The team consists of medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, research assistants, and administrative support personnel. Also critical to providing comprehensive care are our social workers, nutritionists, yoga instructors and wellness professionals.
