Maternity Care
Complete care for your pregnancy, delivery and recovery in New Jersey
Our maternity program provides complete maternity care to support you and your family through pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery. With expert teams and services throughout New Jersey for both routine and high-risk pregnancies, you and your baby's health, safety, and comfort are at the heart of everything we do.
Our focus on providing the safest possible care has earned national recognition, with seven of our hospitals named "High Performing" for maternity care by U.S. News & World Report.
Our Areas of Maternity Care
We offer a connected network of expert teams and services across North, Central, and South Jersey, ensuring you receive the right care at the right time.
High-Risk Pregnancy & Fetal Care
For pregnancies that require extra attention, our programs provide the highest level of care using advanced technology and highly trained staff.
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM): Providing top-tier care for high-risk mothers and critically ill newborns.
- Extra Support During Pregnancy: Our Fetal Care Program includes a dedicated MFM team, 24/7 on-site neonatologists, and advanced genetics and diagnostic services.
- Planning for Your Baby's Arrival: Our prenatal pediatricians collaborate directly with your MFM team to create a plan for any medical needs your baby may have after delivery.
Advanced Neonatal Care (NICU)
Should your baby need extra medical attention after birth, you can rest assured that all our hospitals are ready with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). For the most fragile newborns, our network includes two of New Jersey's leading children's hospitals:
- Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital (Hackensack): Features a Level IIIC NICU and is the first in the nation to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care.
- K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital (Neptune): Also equipped with a Level IIIC NICU and is the only children's hospital in New Jersey to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care.
Our entire network of hospitals works together to ensure that every baby receives the right level of care. This connected system provides families with both the convenience of their local community hospital and seamless access to the state's most advanced neonatal services.
