Program Details

Curriculum

Our Core Didactics Curriculum covers all major topics in forensic psychiatry and incorporates gender, racial, and cultural perspectives with a diverse, comprehensive curriculum that occurs throughout the fellows one year training. Fellows will have one day per week protected to participate in didactics. Fellows receive instruction in a variety of topics including but not limited to:
  • Landmark Cases
  • Mock Trial
  • Moot Court
  • Research & QI
  • Ethics
  • United States Legal System
  • Juvenile Justice System
  • Criminal Law, Procedure & Constitutional Protections
  • Civil Procedure
  • Psychological Testing
  • Educational Conferences

During the one year fellowship, fellows will actively participate in a variety of conferences. The goal of these conferences is to:

  • Improve critical thinking
  • Improve understanding and interpretation of the literature
  • Improve the management of patients with complex conditions
  • Improve the understanding of ethical principles in the care for patients
