Application Process

Residency

Prospective residents must have satisfactorily completed an approved educational program at an accredited school of medicine. Applications are accepted via the Electronic Residency Application Service and all positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program. The deadline for applications is November. Interviews will be conducted between November and February. We sponsor J1 visas.

Requirements for Application:
Applications must be submitted via ERAS. All applications are reviewed with preference given to applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Graduated from medical school within the past 5 years
  • Passed all USMLE Steps on the first attempt by the NRMP deadline for rank order lists
  • International Medical Graduates must fulfill ECFMG requirements
  • Hands-on clinical experience in the United States
  • All prospective residents MUST meet New Jersey residency training permit requirements. Any applicant from a non-LCME, non-AOA accredited medical school must complete didactic training (first 2 years of basic sciences) where the school is authorized to confer a medical degree

Fellowships

Clinical Neurophysiology

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology, Child Neurology, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities or Psychiatry. Applications are accepted during the December Electronic Residency Application Service cycle and all positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program. The deadline for applications is January 31st. All interviews are scheduled from February to April. This fellowship sponsors J1 visas.

Sleep Medicine

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Applications are accepted during the July Electronic Residency Application Service cycle and all positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program. The deadline for applications is August 30th. All interviews are scheduled from August to September. This fellowship sponsors J1 visas.

Vascular Neurology

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology. Applications are accepted during the December Electronic Residency Application Service cycle and all positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program. The deadline for applications is January 31st. All interviews are scheduled from February to April. This fellowship sponsors J1 visas.

Neurocritical Care

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Surgery or Emergency Medicine. Applications are accepted beginning in March in the SF Match system with all positions offered through the same system. All interviews are scheduled from February to May. At this time, this fellowship cannot sponsor J1 visas.

Interventional Neurology

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in neurology and be in the process of completing either a one year vascular neurology program or a two-year Neurocritical Care fellowship, in the process of completing an ACGME-accredited residency in neurosurgery, or have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in radiology and be in the process of completing a one-year neuroradiology fellowship. Please reach out directly to the program for the application process. All interviews are scheduled from February to April. At this time, this fellowship cannot sponsor J1 visas.

Combined Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care & Interventional Neurology Program

Prospective fellows must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology. Applications are accepted through the December Vascular Neurology Electronic Residency Application Service cycle and all positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program. Please indicate interest in the combined program in your personal statement. The deadline for applications is January 31st. All interviews are scheduled from February to April. At this time, this fellowship cannot sponsor J1 visas.
