A wholistic approach for improved neurological outcomes
Hackensack University Medical Center’s Neuroscience Institute uses an interprofessional, transdisciplinary approach to provide superior care to patients with complex neurological problems, such as MS, headache, movement disorders, dementia, brain tumors, stroke, concussion, back pain, and hereditary neuropathies.
In combination with state-of-the-art technology, HUMC’s comprehensive team of neurologists, nurses and psychologists work with specialists in neuro-ophthalmology, sleep medicine, rehabilitation, neuro-urology, geriatrics and neuroradiology to treat the whole person.
The individualized approach brings together state-of-the-art medication treatment with the compassion needed to address the physical, emotional and cognitive issues often associated with these conditions.
National organizations recognize the importance of this interprofessional approach. As an example, the Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society awarded accreditations to HUMC’s Neuroscience Institute in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
