Joint Replacement Program
Dedicated to helping you get back to your life
Normally, our bodies are supposed to provide us with smooth, pain-free movement. However, as we age, our bodies undergo change, and sometimes this results in joint or spine problems. This type of pain is not only uncomfortable, but prevents you from doing the everyday activities you enjoy. If you are experiencing pain as a result of over use, sprains, fractures, or arthritis, and have been unable to find relief through non-surgical treatments such as injections/medications, or physical therapy, joint replacement or spine surgery may be right for you.
Choosing to have joint replacement surgery is a big decision that you must make with the advice and guidance of your doctor. Where you choose to have the surgery is also important, because the success of your surgery and your recovery depend on the quality of your care. At Hackensack Meridian Health, we offer a joint replacement program that is tailored to meet your individual needs. But technical skills and a superb facility aren’t always enough. You also need a human touch, and that is another way we excel.

Working with you
Just as no two patients are alike, no two surgeries are exactly the same. That is why at Hackensack Meridian Health, our team of expert physicians and clinicians work closely with you from diagnosis through treatment and recovery in order to meet the unique medical and lifestyle needs of each patient.
Hackensack Meridian Health offers a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, pain specialists, and specially-trained and experienced registered nurses and therapists who provide both surgical and non-surgical treatment options in joint care. We make every attempt to try non-surgical treatment options before considering surgery. However, when a surgical procedure becomes the right choice, our physicians have the ability to replace all major joints, including the hips, knees, and shoulders.
Some of the procedures we perform include:
- Total knee replacement
- Partial, unicompartmental and patellofemoral knee replacement
- Total hip replacement
- Anterior hip replacement
- Bilateral knee replacement
- Total shoulder replacement
- Reverse total shoulder replacement
Advanced techniques for complex revisions
For some patients, a complex revision of a prior joint replacement is recommended. Many of our experienced joint replacement surgeons are especially skilled in these complicated surgeries. These procedures include repeat revision surgery, management of peri-prosthetic fractures and two-stage revision procedures for infection. Your surgeon will discuss the options with you.
