OBGYN Residency Program Application Process

The Hackensack University Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  The only documentation reviewed for consideration is that submitted through ERAS.

Please Note:

In line with national recommendations and for the safety of all, our interviews this year will all be conducted virtually.

2022 Match and Application Review:

We will begin reviewing applications on September 27, 2023.  The deadline for applications is October 1, 2023.  Any applications received after that date will not be reviewed.

Invitations to interview will be extended on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Invitations to interview will then be extended on a rolling basis thereafter.

We review applications when they contain at least the following:

  • MyERAS common application
  • Personal statement
  • CV (generated through ERAS)
  • USMLE Step 1 (USMLE Step 2 and CS if available)
  • Medical School transcripts
  • 3 letters of recommendation, 2 from ObGyn, one of which must include a SLOE

Important Dates:

September 27 – October 24, 2023: Application Review. If you wish to have your application reviewed for consideration, the above mentioned application components must be received by the start of the business day (9AM-EST), October 2.

October 24, 2023: We will be extending our initial invitations to interview

Please Note:

We only communicate with applicants through ERAS.

Interview Dates:

Interviews will be held between November 1– December 30, 2023. If necessary interviews may be extended into January, 2024.

The Ob/Gyn residents host an informal virtual gathering the evening before the interview date for those invited applicants who are able to attend.
