About Us

Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J. is a not-for-profit, 499-bed academic hospital with a reputation as one of New Jersey’s premier health care providers. With more than 1,000 affiliated physicians, JFK offers a complete spectrum of advanced services including general and specialized surgery, cardiac care, long-term care, assisted living, maternity and pediatrics, oncology, imaging, breast center, sleep center, wound care, robotic surgery and emergency medicine.

JFK is the home of a nationally recognized Neuroscience Institute – one of New Jersey’s most comprehensive programs for the diagnosis and treatment of brain, spine and nervous system disorders. The clinical team is one of the largest and most specialized teams available in New Jersey, dedicated to discoveries and research that has made it world renowned in the field of neuroscience research and advancement.

The Emergency Department consists of 50 adult private beds, a separate Pediatric Emergency Department with 14 private beds, and a spacious and efficient Patient Arrival Center. The ED offers privacy, safety and fast access to a team of specialists trained in emergency medicine who provide streamlined patient care. JFK also operates the JFK Satellite Emergency Department in Plainfield, Urgent Care in Piscataway and a Surgery Center on the JFK campus.

The JFK campus also houses the Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute – a 94-bed acute rehabilitation hospital offering New Jersey’s most comprehensive rehabilitation services and a five-star rated Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency program.

JFK’s commitment to teaching the future of medicine to the next generation is demonstrated by its sought-after residency programs in rehabilitation, neuro-science, family medicine and dentistry. JFK’s clinical research and trials in the fields of rehabilitation and neuroscience has been internationally recognized and widely published.

Directions

From New York or Newark, take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 11. Pick up the Garden State Parkway North to Exit 132, making a right off the exit (Route 27). At the fourth light (James Street), make a right and the hospital is a short distance on the left. Or, if you take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 132, continue as above, except note that you will enter Route 27 past the first traffic light.

From Philadelphia, take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 10 leading to Route 287 to Route 1 North. At the Menlo Park Mall, on the right, going around a jughandle onto Parsonage Road. Continue straight past the mall and underpass to a traffic light at Route 27 (landmarks are the Rite Aid on the left, Dunkin Donuts on the right). Parsonage Road becomes James Street and the hospital is a short distance on the left.

Enter through the main lobby of the hospital and take the escalator up one level to the main floor. You will proceed to the Information Desk which will provide detailed directions to the main pharmacy.
