Resident Life

Where to live

Residents tend to live locally in Edison or nearby towns within commuting distance.

Transportation

Car: Having a car will make getting around much easier.

Train: There is also easy access to NJ transit train line (5 minutes away) which brings you into New York City or Philadelphia.

Air: JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute is within 1 hour of 3 major international airports (Newark International Airport in NJ, LaGuardia Airport in NYC and JFK International Airport in NYC).

Conferences

Residents annually get presentations accepted to National PM&R Conferences. If a resident gets his or her work accepted to a National PM&R-related Conference, he or she is encouraged to attend the conference and get the experience of presenting their work in this arena.

Courses/Workshops

Residents get to attend workshops at not only JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, but other institutions as well. At JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, residents attend the Tracheostomy Workshop, Anatomy Cadaver Course, MSK Joint Injection Workshop, Ultrasound Workshop and Spasticity Workshop. They also attend the Orthotics Course at Temple University, EMG and Clinical Neurophysiology at Jefferson Medical College, and a Prosthetics Course at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
