5-Star Quality Rating System
Eight Hackensack Meridian Health Hospitals received four stars or higher from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the agency's Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating program.
The CMS Star Ratings system offers consumers a clear and simple way to compare hospitals and make informed healthcare decisions. Achieving a 4- or 5-star rating places a hospital in a top tier of performance nationwide.
Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack and Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood both earned a five-star rating, the highest possible distinction. Hackensack Meridian Health Hospitals that earned a 4-star rating include:

Magnet Nursing Recognition
Hackensack University Medical Center is the first hospital in New Jersey and the second in the nation to achieve Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for the seventh consecutive time.Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Riverview Medical Center, and Ocean Medical Center received the designation six times.
Raritan Bay Medical Center/Old Bridge Medical Center has received the designation four times. Bayshore Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center received the designation two times.
The distinguished Magnet® Recognition Program® is the gold standard of nursing excellence, with only 9.4% of hospitals in the United States receiving this designation.
