Why I chose JSUMC? I chose JSUMC because I enjoy the collaborative environment in this hospital. JSUMC is one of the flagship hospitals in the region, which provides a high variety and complexity of cases. Ultimately, the location of JSUMC is unparalleled; the area is lively and filled with things to do, especially in the summer.
Fun Fact: I enjoy collecting pug-themed objects.
Tsian Caesar, D.O.
Anesthesiology Interests: Obstetrics and Pediatric Anesthesiology
Why I chose JSUMC? JSUMC felt like home! From my interviews, I felt comfortable and confident that the education provided would be fundamental, and the staff would be supportive of their residents.
Fun Fact: My cousin and I held onto a moving speed boat while snorkeling in Mexico after the tour guide forgot we were underwater.

Anesthesiology Interests:Pediatrics and Cardiology.
Why I chose JSUMC? I chose JSUMC for a few reasons. 1) I think there is a great culture in this hospital; everyone is super friendly and supportive, just generally a nice environment to work and learn. It’s also the hospital where lots of people from my community go, and it feels special to be able to serve here. Also, I live in this area, so it’s super convenient.

Anesthesiology Interests: I have a growing interest in pain fellowship, while keeping an open mind as I continue to gain exposure in subspecialties.
Why I chose JSUMC? I chose JSUMC because of the strong sense of camaraderie between residents and attendings. During my interview and subsequently my second look, I genuinely felt the supportive, family-like culture that makes it a great place to train.
Fun Fact: I have a bit of an adventurous side and enjoy activities like cliff jumping and skydiving when I get the chance

Anesthesiology Interests: Pain, Cardiac, Advocacy
Why I chose JSUMC? I used to work in Monmouth County and love the area; I had an amazing time during the 2nd look as well. JSUMC provides exposure to a wide variety of cases and complex patients. I thought training here would be excellent preparation during residency.
Fun Fact: Developed a project in medical school to mentor/assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds to prepare and enter careers in health professions. Also, I have perfect pitch and played violin in the All-State orchestra during high school.

Why I chose JSUMC? The culture and people at JSUMC really stood out to me as some of the best I’ve encountered during my medical training. Being in a supportive and family-like environment was a major priority for me when choosing a residency. I’m also originally from Florida, so being closer to the beach again is a nice added bonus.
Fun Fact: Solo hiked over 100 miles in New Zealand for two weeks after medical school.
