Why I chose JSUMC? I wanted to train at a major trauma center that handles complex and high-acuity cases while maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. The faculty are passionate about teaching and the leadership is genuinely dedicated to fostering the next generation of anesthesiologists.
Fun Fact: I have been doing martial arts for over 20 years and have black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kyokushin Karate.
Eve Golden, D.O.

Why I chose JSUMC? It was important to me to be in a program that wanted their residents to be there. Having faculty with a genuine interest in my learning and pursuit of clinical excellence made JSUMC a top choice for me.
Fun Fact: My cat is famous on social media. I had to create a business email for her to field collaboration requests from companies. She is a chunky calico who would probably sell me for just one lick of her favorite treat.

Anesthesiology Interests: I am interested in learning more about pediatric anesthesia and the anesthetic principles involved in critical care medicine.
Why I chose JSUMC? I chose JSUMC because I immediately connected with the program's core values during my elective rotation. I wanted to be at a place where I knew patients would receive high-quality care and where I would learn a lot from knowledgeable faculty.
Fun Fact: I have a pet snake named Apollo.

Anesthesiology Interests: I am currently interested in pediatrics and critical care and looking forward to rotating to gain more insight.
Why I chose JSUMC? Upon interview day, I realized how tight-knit and supportive the culture is at JSUMC's anesthesia department. Moreover, I found my PD, Dr. Malapero, very excited and invested in my and my co-residents' future careers. Pairing this with a supportive and responsive coordinator, Michelle Torres, and the idea that working hard means you can also play hard aligns with my view of life and my career. Lastly, it was clear to me my coresidents and staff wanted to be at JSUMC, and I think that makes the environment a more positive, pleasurable experience for all. I am excited to join!
Fun Fact: I can dunk a basketball at 6 ft in height!
