Medical Education-Simulation Fellowship

Program Overview

The Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) Medical Education Fellowship is designed to develop emergency physicians into skilled educators, educational scholars, and future leaders in academic medicine.

The Medical Education Fellowship is a 2-year experience combining formal graduate-level training in medical education with hands-on teaching, educational leadership, scholarship, and clinical practice. Fellows receive protected time to pursue fellowship activities while maintaining a clinical practice in emergency medicine. The program provides comprehensive training in the principles of medical education, with opportunities across undergraduate medical education (UME), graduate medical education (GME), simulation, curriculum development, learner assessment, mentorship, faculty development, and educational scholarship. Fellows work closely with experienced medical educators while developing an individualized area of focus based on their career goals and interests.
